It is likely that since cloud is father out some of the dns entries were old and still sending him to the old redirect that was dead.
There was a full day that everyone in the world was being cycled during redirect and couldn't get into forums.
By now everyone should be updated.
(generally dns take 12-48 hrs to fully update around the world)
